The Development
The project began by carring out competitor analysis to understand the requirements and features of mindfulness apps. I looked into their identity and visual branding including colours and styles that encouraged relaxation. Typical features included activites, customistion and progress tracking. By comparing different apps I was able to decide what quality was missing from other competiros.
My aim was to work on a mindfulness app that is welcoming and relatable. MindMe inspires users to go out, explore new activities and motivate others.I decided to create an illustrative style that reflected the emotions I wanted users to experience. Relaxation and freedom in an abstract world of people in expression scenarios. As blue connotes calm and serenity I worked it into the illustrations and UI elements with touches of purple for warmth. It invites the user to a community of individuals who are also on a similar journey of growth.
After defining the aim of the product and its target audience of students, I created wireframes to begin mapping out the user flow of the app. During the design process, I used this as a blueprint and created brand guidelines to support visual consistency.
